Exploring personalised treatment, remote monitoring, and ethical data use
In a milestone event for the Hypermarker project, consortium partners came together to host a dynamic Patient and Public Involvement & Engagement (PPIE) workshop focused on personalised hypertension care. The session, co-organised with the European Heart Network (EHN), took place 28th January 2025 and brought together cardiovascular patients, clinicians, and researchers from across Europe.Â
Â
Held in partnership with UMC Utrecht, the University of Birmingham, and Viduet Health, the workshop was designed to meaningfully involve patients in shaping the future of hypertension management. Participants explored how individualised treatment plans and digital tools can empower patients to better manage their blood pressure and overall health.Â
Â
The session focused on three key areas:
Patient perspectives on personalised antihypertensive treatments: understanding what truly matters to patients when tailoring therapies.
Hands-on demonstration of the Viduet app: a remote monitoring solution aimed at supporting hypertension self-management.
Ethical data use and transparency: ensuring responsible data handling practices throughout the trial.
Â
Workshops like these are a cornerstone of the Hypermarker approach, embedding patient voices throughout the development process to ensure that digital health innovations are both effective and equitable.
